THE ADVENTURES OF NEPHETITI AND SWEETIE ... THE SERIES

"The Adventures of Sweetie and Nephetiti" are a series of interactive children's books that aim to ‘unite the world one community at a time' by teaching the essence of true friendship as experienced between two children of different ethnicities." It is written by award-winning performance artiste and author J. Nichole Noël.

The books will incorporate a variety of social issues, such as, self-image, telling lies, friends of mixed race, same gender parents, bed wetting, thumb sucking, bereavement, the internet, bullying and the latest craze of eating grapes and popcorn. The stories are written specifically to promote open question and answer dialogue between parent, teacher and or/caregiver with child(ren).

Our objective is to facilitate learning through an interactive method of reading while nurturing socially rich young people as they prepare to embrace a world culturally rich in ethnic diversity.

The Synopsis

Based on a true story of friendship, Nephetiti & Sweetie Go to the Zoo is an exciting book about best friends of different ethnicities, a trip to the zoo, a humongous banana hat and bi-lingual monkeys that chit-chat. It addresses the underlying issue of self-image and being comfortable with what is termed as "different" as a proud Nephetiti in her humongous banana hat is met with adverse reactions at the zoo. How will the crowd react when ... the magic and authenticity of the hat is shockingly revealed? If you have not seen a 6ft wide banana hat or imagined hearing bi-lingual monkeys chit-chat, then this is a must see!
